The NPLD Teen Server is a vibrant and welcoming community where you can chat with other teens in the area, share your thoughts on the latest books and movies, and discover new titles to add to your reading list. But that’s not all! We also host exciting contests where you can win fantastic prizes, including free books, gift cards, movie tickets, LEGO sets, and more.

Need help finding your next great read or film? Our server is the perfect place to get recommendations from other library-goers who share your interests. Plus, you’ll always be in the loop about upcoming crafts, parties, activities, and other events.

Community Service

NPLD welcomes all applications for school or club related volunteering. Spots are limited, and while we cannot guarantee placement, we strive to accommodate all applicants. Applications must be turned in to the Adult Services Department on the second floor of the library or emailed to ccontreras@northlakelibrary.org.

Volunteering is self-scheduled. Volunteers will be able to assist the library as much (up to 10 hours a week) or as little as they need. Activities for volunteering can look like everything from:

  • Helping us prepare for a program or event
  • Helping us run and/or clean up for an event
  • Creating displays for books, media, or services
  • Writing book reviews on behalf of our Goodreads account
  • Promoting the library on social media
  • Advising our Teen Librarian on the Teen Discord Server
  • Or, even, your own idea
    • example 1: One of our volunteers started an SAT Prep Club and led it weekly.
    • example 2: We had some volunteers who made posters advocating for library services and put them up in the windows of their houses during COVID shut down.
